Kid Zapper kicking cancer at stock show
The Kid Zapper and the Rockin’ Zappers will be performing at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show once again. The local band has been taking the stage at the annual event for more than 10 years. For the second year in a row the band will be raffling Budweiser guitars for $1 for the RGVLS Cowboys Kicking Cancer fundraiser. The Kid Zapper will be selling tickets throughout the week. Last year the raffle raised more than $1,000 and the Kid Zapper said he hopes to raise more money this year. He is sponsored by L&F Distributors. He said he plans to have many giveaways for the crowd. The band will be at the Entertainment Center on the show grounds Sat. March 16, performing from noon to 4 p.m. with guest performances from Hair Factory and Sweet Water.
The Kid Zapper is the stage name for Mercedes resident, Armando Saldana, who has become a well known music act throughout the Valley and parts of Texas for playing his signature Bud Light guitar.
