Mercedes Little League Softball

The defending District 34 Little League softball champions will once again look to make a state title run this season. Pictured above (last names weren’t provided) are Bridge, Victoria, Amani, Adamari, Anastasia, Illiana, Paula and Mia. Missing from the photo are Clarissa, Deasia and Clarissa Rizo. They are coached by Smiley Sanchez, Alfie Gonzalez and Anisa Gonzalez.

“It has been 15 years since they last won district,” said coach Sanchez. “This year they will be making a run for state. It takes a lot of support of parents and a lot of training for these girls. The girls will miss a lot of family gatherings and friend get-togethers so they can compete at a higher level.”
