Want to report an issue to the City of Mercedes?
Now its possible by anyone using a smart phone from the palm of the hand and wants to point out an issue to city leaders.
Mercedes 311 allows citizens to report common non-emergency issues, tag their location, and send them to the appropriate City staff member for assistance. Residents can create, view and track the status of their report making it easy to engage and communicate with their local government and improve their community.
“I’m extremely excited to be apart of this Commission and all of us have been asking for better transparency, better support and communication from our local government, our city, and our tax payers” said Jacob Howell, Mercedes City Commissioner Place 1. “So 311 will allow our citizens better support along with better communication to identify issues in the City with quick and faster responsiveness., so I’m excited our City Commission is helping and doing its best for the betterment of Mercedes by bringing in projects like this and there is more to come here soon.”
The 311 mobile application also allows users to pay utility bills, identify issues within the City and send concerns to the appropreate department.
At this time the application is only available on Android phones, and can be downloaded.
The application is free to use. The program was paid for through the CARES Act.
“What we are hearing is the application is being effective, and the response has been tremendous, its been positive and these are the things we want to continue to bring to the citizens of Mercedes; positive resolve and this Commission is solution driven and we are going to bring and do what is best for this community and continue to strive to do great things for Mercedes,” Howell said.
