CEREMONY IN MEMORY OF CHILDREN LOST TOO SOON
Valley parents who have lost a child too soon will have the opportunity to flick on a tea light candle in memory of their baby during a “Wave of Light” ceremony on Wednesday, October 13 in Weslaco, Harlingen, and Mission.
Parents who have lost a baby during pregnancy or after birth are invited to the special ceremonies from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco (in front of the Knapp Conference Center, outside by the “Memory Garden”, on the west side of the hospital campus, 1401 E. 8th Street in Weslaco), Harlingen Medical Center (parking lot #8, 5501 S. Expressway 77); and Mission Regional Medical Center (main entrance parking lot on the south side of the hospital, 900 S. Bryan Road).
Parents are invited to join Prime Healthcare hospitals across the Valley by lighting a candle in memory of all babies’ lives gone too soon.
In addition to lighting the (flameless) candle, parents will have the opportunity to write a message to their child. There will also be words of reflection by nurses and other hospital staff, prayers, and refreshments.
