American Legion receives grant from Home Depot

Through The Home Depot Foundation, the J.A. Garcia American Legion Post 172 was awarded a new stove, refrigerator and stand up freezer.

“The grant is worth $3,500 to help us around the Hall and do a better job  in the kitchen,” said Tony Sanchez, an American Legion officer.

He said money is left over to upgrade the building’s patio area.

Home Depot annually grants millions of dollars to nonprofit partners across the country who’s programs focus on ending veteran homelessness, creating housing for the most critically wounded veterans, and ensuring aging veterans have a safe place to call home.

More than 41,000 facilities have been transformed for veterans with the help of the Home Depot Foundation.
