Tigers win big at Rio Grande City Tournament

The Tigers have been proving to be a force of pure power as they have opened up their season with huge wins in the weight room to begin the powerlifting season.

Recently, the Tigers finished first at the Rio Grande City Powerlifting Invitational. 

On Saturday Feb. 5, the Tigers finished second at the McAllen Memorial High School Mustang Invitational.

At McAllen, Roan Galvan lifted a total of 1,585 pounds, the second heaviest in the competition. He placed first in the 220 pound division.

Also making their mark in McAllen, Ulises Enriquez,  1,000, Devin Trevino, 1,010; Isaiah Castro, 1,005; Ethan Anciso, 1,275;  Dorian Martin, 1,040; Nathanial Aguero, 1,180;  Jamarion Owens, 1,575.

Powerlifting is a strength sport that consists of three attempts at maximal weight on three lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift.
