Q&A with Angelina Perales, Mercedes High Tigers Junior Point Guard

The Mercedes Enterprise caught up with Junior Point Guard Angelina Perales to ask her about the basketball season and her game. Here’s what she had to say in the Meet the Tigers Q&A:
Q: Tell us when you knew you wanted to be a Tiger basketball player, and why?
A: I’ve always wanted to be a high school Lady Tiger ever since I was small when I played at the Boys and Girls Club.
Q: How excited are you to bring that winning mentality to Mercedes Tigers Basketball?
A: It’s great to be part of this team, and I’m very excited.
Q: What would you say is the most important aspect of your game?
A: My communication abilities on the court is my best player quality.
Q: What did you do this summer to improve your game to get ready for this season?
A: We played in the summer for a summer league which helped our team get used to each other playing together.
Q: What basketball move did you work on to showcase this season?
A: Shot fakes.
Q: What are your team goals for this year?
A: To make the playoffs.
Q: What are your individual player goals for this year?
A: To score and get assists.
Q: Who ís your favorite professional basketball player?
A: Lebron James
Q: Tell us about your job on the court and what you do to help the Tigers to victory?
A: My job on the court is shooting the ball and helping on defense.
Q: What is your most embarrassing play or turnover you ever made playing for the Tigers at any level?
A: The time I was called for a travel violation because I was running with the ball instead of dribbling.
Q: What is your favorite classroom subject?
A: FFA Agriculture class
