The Mercedes Enterprise caught up with Junior  Shooting Guard Marques Clower to ask him about the basketball season and his game. Here’s what he had to say in the Meet the Tigers Q&A:

Q: Tell us when you knew you wanted to be a varsity basketball player, and why?

A: I knew I wanted to play varsity for the Tigers when I was in 7th grade. 

Q: What is your fondest memory of your experience on the team this season?

A: I hit a big three point shot to help win a game in Edcouch-Elsa.

Q: How excited are you about being a member of the basketball team?

A: I’m really excited to be back on the court. 

Q: What did you do this summer to improve your game to get ready for this season?                              

A:  I worked out on the off season to get better and participated in tournaments, leagues, and workouts.

Q: Who has influenced your play style the most?

A: I say Shai Gilgeous-Alexander because he can run the ball, finish at the basket and find the open man.

Q: Who’s your favorite professional basketball player?

A: Kevin Durant

A:  Kevin Durant

Q: If you could play any basketball player 1v1 who would it be?

A: Kevin Durant

Q: Is there a particular significance to your jersey number?

A: I wore  number three  since I was little.

Q: What is the worst practice you have ever endured?

A:  Having to  run alot after a loss. 

Q: What tips would you give to someone going out for basketball?

A: Confidence is everything. 

Q: What team is considered your biggest rival, and why?

A: Edcouch-Elsa.

Q: What is your most memorable shot?

A: When I hit a jump shot over Jesus Ramirez.

Q: What is your favorite game day hype song?

A: In a Minute- lil Baby

Q: Who would you pick as your all time greatest starting five?

A: Steph Curry, Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Kareem Abdul Jabar, and Kevin Durant.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: I like tacos.

A: History
