The Mercedes Enterprise caught up with a number of RGVLS participant Arianna Vasquez heading to the competition to show off her work with his animal. Here is what she had to say:

Q: What club are you a member of?

A: Girl Scouts Troop #65, Choir, FFA

Q: What will you be presenting at RGVLS?

A: Market Hog 

Q: What is your animal’s name?

A: Miranda Lambert 

Q: What is your animal’s breed?

A: Hampshire 

Q: What do you like most about RGVLS?

A: What I like most about RGVLS is that it provides us with an opportunity to experience raising a farm animal. 

Q: Tell us your favorite memory presenting at RGVLS?

A: This will be my first year showing an animal at RGVLS, and I look forward to improving my skills in raising my animal for future shows. 

Q: Who or what encouraged you to join FFA and compete at RGVLS?

A: What encouraged me to join FFA was seeing how my cousin participated with the Edinburg North FFA Chapter. 

Q: What is your goal at RGVLS competition this year?

A: My goal at RGVLS this year is to do well, learn new skills and bring home great memories. 

Q: What is it like for you when you when you come to participate at RGVLS?

A: Being my first time participating at RGVLS it will be something I am looking forward to.

Q: What would be your best advice to someone who wants compete at RGVLS?

A: My best advice to someone who would want to compete at RGVLS would be if you are willing to put in the time with your animal and be committed, you will not be disappointed.

Q: Tells what you did so far to prepare for this year’s RGVLS competition? 

A: To prepare for this years RGVLS competition, I have countless hours, nights and countless weekends bonding with my pig and ensuring it is healthy and ready for competition.

Q: What is the weirdest, or funniest thing your animal as ever done while you have been raising it? 

A: The weirdest thing my pig has done was pass gas while I was cleaning it’s pen; however, the funniest thing it has ever done is pooped all over my pants as I was walking behind her trying to catch up to her.

Q: What is your go to food or snack at RGVLS? 

A: My go to food at RGVLS is sausage tacos & my go to snack are the deep fried Oreos.

Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: My favorite movie is Moana especially because of her little pig!

Q: What is your favorite game or carnival ride at RGVLS?

A: My favorite carnival ride at RGVLS is Cliff Hanger. 

Q: What actor would play you in a Hollywood movie?

A: If an actress were to play me in a Hollywood movie, it would be Lucy Hale.
