MERCEDES — Victoria Eschete knows all about hard work.

She is up before most people tending to the livestock, manufacturing livestock feed and selling packaged meats for Eschete Livestock Company, a family owned business she operates with her husband Lance Eschete and their children.

In the evening, she guides youth who come to the farm to tend to their animals, and prepare for the next big livestock show.

And now, she has teamed up with Aspire Enterprise to help grow her business by helping students along the way who are learning marketing and business strategy principles at Wesalco East.

Weslaco East students Jose Rivera and Miguel Gonzalez are interns at Eschete Livestock Co.

“I definitely see her dream coming true,” said Jose Rivera, Weslaco East Aspire Enterprise student. “It’s going to take a lot of work, and it looks like she has that motivation. She really loves the job, and I think things will improve for her.”

The students are working on an advertising campaign and plan to develop a social media campaign plan to advertise her products and services.

They will receive college scholarship after completing their work for Eschete  Company.

“She not only has farm animals for sale, but she has seeds and grains for animal food, packaged meat and she wants to open her own store,” Rivera said. “I believe if she opens her own store more people will come in to her business.”

The students plan to help her reach more customers.

Aspire Enterprise’s is a student led organization paving the way for the business leaders of tomorrow.

“We bring on companies that want to work with students and need marketing services,” said Eloy Garza, Weslaco teacher. “They like the idea of giving students a real chance and an opportunity to gain hands on experience.”

Aspire Enterprise works with local business’ to help Weslaco students get hands on experience on being entrepreneurs.

“My message to you as entrepreneurs is to do same thing that you really enjoy doing and think about it before you start doing it because it’s a commitment that you want to make and stick with,” said Victoria Eschete.
