Q&A: Lady Tigers Sophomore Shooting Guard Regina Gaytan

The Mercedes Enterprise caught up with Regina Gaytan to ask her about the basketball season and her game. Here’s what she had to say in the Meet the Tigers Q&A:
Q: Who’s the greatest basketball player of all time?
A: Michael Jordan
Q: When did you first know you loved to play basketball?
A: I knew I loved basketball when all I wanted to do was go outside and spend hours playing with my brother.
Q: What is your signature basketball move?
A: Pull up jumper
Q: Who do you model your basketball game from?
A: I model my game from many of the women college basketball players that have influenced and changed the game for women such as Paige beuckers.
Q: What do you do to get ready for game time?
A: I usually just listen to music or listen to podcasts until it’s game time.
Q: Who has helped you get to the level you are at in basketball?
A: For the most part I think my coaches, they have taught me so much on how to become a better player and teammate. As well as my family I always want to be better for them all around.
Q: What does it mean to you to be on the varsity team?
A: It’s means a lot, I’m glad coach Rivas decided to take a chance on me to be able to demonstrate my skills and contribute to this team.
Q: What is your main goal for the basketball season?
A: My main goal for this season is to be able to showcase my skills and be able to contribute to my team, l know we all have one goal in common and that’s making it to the playoffs.
Q: What is one of your goals for after high school?
A: One of my goals is to graduate from college with a masters degree.
Q: What is your dream school/university?
A: Texas at Austin or Texas A&M

subject? A: English
