Greetings my fellow Legionnaires, JA Garcia American Legion Family, Veterans Community and our beloved City of Mercedes, Texas one of the most patriotic little towns in the Nation.  This month of March our Legion Post will place emphasis in honoring and recognizing our Vietnam Veterans and we will close the month by hosting a well deserved Vietnam Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday March 29th, 2022.  Pertinent information below.

VIETNAM VETERANS WAR  NATIONAL HOLIDAY 

IS SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, MARCH 29TH, 2022.

The JA Garcia American Legion Post 172 Family will be hosting a Vietnam War Veterans Day Ceremony and honor and recognize our Vietnam Veterans in the Community.  The Vietnam Veterans are the largest group of members in our Post.  This is a well deserved recognition and an opportunity to thank them for their service.  The Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 29th, 2022 at 9:00 AM by our American Legion Monument in front of City Hall.  We are asking all Veterans to attend this ceremony and join us to honor our brothers and Comrade in Arms.  Their will be a Flag Raising Ceremony, Remarks by Honor Guests, and we will honor those 16 Warriors from Mercedes that never made it back home by rendering Military honors with a 21 gun Salute and rendition of Taps.  The ceremony will finalize with a breakfast reception at the American Legion Hall at 321 S. Ohio, Mercedes, Texas.

Our Next Scheduled Business Meeting for our American Legion Post will be on Wednesday, March 16th, 2022.  Officers please have your reports ready.

Our next scheduled Fish Fry will be on Friday, March 11th, 2022.  Come out and support our Post.

The Post Canteen will continue to operate at normal hours Meat raffle on Mondays, Fried Chicken on Tuesdays and Lounge will be open.
