On Saturday, July 16, SONIC Drive-In will open its first location in Mercedes, TX. Located at 620 E. 2^nd St directly across from the H.E.B Park, the new Mercedes Drive-In will welcome guests from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. seven days a week. SONIC Mercedes will employ more than 50 team members from the local area.

To celebrate the Mercedes SONIC opening, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Friday, June 15 at 11 a.m. The event will include remarks from SONIC representatives and local officials, who will also be available for pictures and interviews.

The Mercedes Drive-In is one of 14 new SONIC locations opening in the Rio Grande Valley over the next several years as part of a $37 million investment that will bring more than 400 jobs to the region. The first two South Texas locations opened in San Juan in 2020 and in Pharr in 2021, and SONIC will open in Elsa later this year.
